The reason why they accidentally hit or punch is because they've entered deep sleep and the brain sort of shut down thus doing weird things to the muscle. I personally experienced this multiple times and I'm in 3rd Trimester now. I 100% agree to the mums that suggest using bloster or pregnancy pillow to create a space between you and your husband. If possible, you sleep facing them with the bolster / pregnancy pillow in the middle so you can sort of shove them back when they get too close. I will always push my husband away when he crosses the pregnancy pillow boundary.

My husband has this bad habit of rolling over to my area. Once or twice he was lying on part of my arms or body already almost pressing onto baby in my 2nd trimester. At least ur husband apologise. Mine I had to push away and he roll over to his side and continue sleeping and didn't even know when I told him in the morning! Now I use bolster to block him.

Try to put a bolster in between! My hubby didnt elbow or hit but he'll instinctively put his legs over mine while sleeping, making me as his bolster as what he always did before I was pregnant 😂 And yes it cld be painful esp when he did it suddenly. He stopped once I used the pregnancy pillow around me.

Use bolster and buy a bigger bed. You can also force him to be more mindful to sleep towards the edge. Else you may want to ask him to sleep separately for a while for the sake of baby’s safety.

In the earlier days my hubby have this problem too. There was once i was already slping till the edge and almost off the bed alr.. tsktsk.

Super Mum

Baby will be okay:) But ouch for you! If there’s some space, maybe put a bolster/pregnancy pillow in between?:)
