Baby sleep

My LO is turning 5 months in a few days. He used to sleep in the baby cot. His last milk for the day is usually 9-9.30pm and he is on full FM. Few weeks ago, he started to wake up every 30mins-1hr. So we decided to let him co sleep recently. Past few nights he started to toss and turn and fuss, sometimes he flips over to his tummy while still asleep. I had to turn him back. I am afraid it will affect the quality of his sleep or his breathing. Anyone experienced the same? Does it resolve?

Hi! My baby is now 9 months old, had a few phases like that and always went away after a tough few days / weeks of waking up sometimes almost every 2-3 hours (he is a pretty good sleeper and used to sleep through the night so this is abnormal for him!) During these phases I still press on to put him back in the cot because (1) we have a storage bed that's pretty high and baby could crawl starting 5 months, (2) we are pretty deep sleepers so we don't feel confident having him directly sleep with us. For rolling in sleep at this age, super normal! If baby is unable to roll front to back / back to front and left to right / right to left, I would roll him back everytime to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) because it's high risk in the first year of life especially. Now that my son can move around on his own, i just make sure he has a breathable mattress (has ventilation holes) and he moves around a lot in sleep and sometimes he sleeps on his tummy. No judgment and you do you mama! Just make sure you are practising safe sleep rules, and if you're interested can use this tool: http://www.sidscalculator.com/ Take care!
