Whats the Indian mindset of kids have to be chubby ?My mom keeps asking me to feed it saying it looks undernourished and its cheeks are not visible. Acc to me my child is fine!!

Hey mum, welcome to the old way of parenting! Yes, you're so right when you say that people think that as long as your baby does not have really chubby cheeks and dimpled legs and arms, it means your baby is not healthy. The best person to decide whether or not your baby is healthy is your baby's doctor. As long as your baby is active, is gaining weight as per age and is crossing the age appropriate developmental milestones, all should be fine.

hi, even ive faced these comments when my daughter was a baby..in india cuteness is directly proportionate to a kid being chubby n overweight..dont get fooled by this, if ur child is active and eating well but isnt chubby its absolutely fine, needs to be healthy thn overweight..

Yes, that's the general mentality of Indian parents. Both of our mothers still taunt that my kid is super-skinny. I'm not worried as long as her doc says she's perfectly fine on her growth chart.

its perfectly alright unless your kid is healthy . BMI should be balanced .
