Should you go for a soy-based formula or a cow milk based formula?

In additional to what Idza has mentioned, another point to consider is the age of your baby. For babies below 12 months, regular milk formula is not recommended as it is made from cow’s milk which has three times more protein than breast milk, making it more difficult for baby to digest. Also, it contains very little iron which is important for the baby’s growth. When choosing formula for babies below 12 months, look out for iron-fortified stage one formula meant for babies in that age group. hi Avantika. you can definitely go for either, as both are fine but don't have much difference in terms of their nutritional content. i started giving cow milk to my elder one when she turned 8 months and she was absolutely fine. on the other hand, my younger one was lactose intolerant so we had to put her on soy milk from the 7th month itself. i came across this article that says giving too much soy to your babies can be harmful, do have a look http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/why-soy-formula-even-organic-is-so-dangerous-for-babies/

Between the two, there is no difference in terms of nutrients. Soy-based formula does not have nutritional advantage over cow milk-based formula and vice versa. Both are fortified with the same vitamins and minerals. Parents would choose soy-based formula when their baby is sensitive or allergic to cows' milk protein, or when a baby is having trouble digesting lactose or milk sugar. So it's really up to what your baby can or cannot ingest :) http://www.babycenter.com/404_soy-or-milk-based-formula-which-is-better-for-my-baby_1962.bc

It depends, a kid might be sensitive on cow-based but fine with soy-based. Try both for small quantity. Whatever he likes then settle for it.

go for cow milk if ur baby is ok with it. should not have any issue . if ur baby is lactose intolerance then go for soy milk.

if your LO is ok with cow base, there isn't a need to use soy base unless she is lactose intolerant

If your LO is lactose intolerant, go for soy formula. If not just stick to Cow formula.
