No formula cannot be kept unlike breastmilk. At most you can only keep it for about an hour. If your baby consistently leaves half his formula remaining then you are probably trying to feed him too much. Why don't you make less first and top up with more if he feels dissatisfied.

It should be discarded after an hour. Dont take the risk of feeding baby cold milk.
