Status of a Newborn Child

Hi mums.. My husband is SPR (Malaysian) and I’m a LTVP holder only (Indonesian). When my child is born, what is my child status? Will be grant as SPR? If no, then let say if we need to apply LTVP/Dependent Pass /PR for the baby, it will take time to get the pass. So is there a special pass/permission for the baby to stay in Singapore while we are applying the pass?

Ask your husband to apply for Singapore citizenship, spore needs babies should be okay to accept. Then baby can get spore citizenship upon birth too

Give birth in Singapore, it's easier. My friend parents is Indonesian and he was born in Singapore... automatically Singapore Citizen. Not PR etc

Both of your friend’ parents are Indonesian, but what is their nationality? Still Indonesia? Or already converted to Singapore? What I know is one of the parent must be Singapore Citizen, then the child can directly become SC. However thank you for sharing with me :)

You'll have to apply PR for your baby.

Super Mum

My friend, SPR couple was advised to do the following: 1) apply Sg birth cert at ICA / hospital 2) use birth cert to apply for Malaysian citizenship at Malaysia High Commission 3) use citizenship letter to apply for Malaysian passport at Malaysia High Commission 4) use Malaysian passport to apply for LTVP - can obtain in about 2 weeks 5) apply SPR after that at own timeframe
