Drinking cold water after delivery

Hi mummies, is it true that drinking & eating any thing that is cold after delivery will harm the baby? I had been told by my grandma and nanny that I am not allowed to consume anything cold (even lukewater is prohibited.) Since my LO had turn 1 month few days back. Is it alright for me to consume cold foods & drinks? I went out today for the 1st time after delivery and bought a teh bing & apple juice when I am running my errands. Do I need to discharge my breastmilk for today?

Not true - it does not harm the baby, but it may have some negative effects on you. Luke warm is good; even room temp water is fine. Of course ice cold is not recommended but not necessarily bad...

It won’t harm your baby with cold drinks but might affect your body... coz after delivery mummy must keep body warm, like drinking red dates Longan tea, eating dishes with ginger and etc..

Hey, Having cold drinks or food will not harm your body but it can harm your health so I would suggest have lukewarm water for now

Drinking cold after delivery will not harm the baby. It’s just not so good for oneself.

Moderation cos everything you consume goes to the baby
