Old wives tales?

Hi mummies, I know this sounds super ridiculous but I keep having people tell me this. Drink coffee, milo, or chocolate milk your baby will come out dark. Must only eat and drink white colour stuff then baby will be fair. Seriously, anyone can share your experience if this is even relevant? So fed up! Isn't the colour of your child based on yours and hubby's genes?

My mum mentioned about drinking soya milk often and baby will turn out fair, but MIL said it will only cause jaundice. *roll eyes* Either way, just acknowledge them and drink whatever you feel like drinking anyways. I drank Milo almost everyday during my first trimester, and still drinking it at my second.

It's BS, believe me haha, just like some old saying that you shouldn't sex in the dark if not baby come out dark. Coffee (the original coffee beans, not those packet three in one) and goats milk are actually beneficial for the baby to come out healthy tho.

That's quite funny! So Caucasian babies are fair cos their mums drank milk, Chinese babies are yellow cos their mums drank chrysanthemum tea and Malay babies drink teh o & Indian mums drink milo etc...??

Lol! Totally not true! My mom always told me she drink coffee while having me, but I’m totally fairer. Whereas she said she drink soy milk while having my sister and my sis is darker in skin tone. All are just myth that they believe.

😆my mom told me to drink lots of soya milk so that baby will have fair skin. It's def a myth. Skin colour is determined by genes! I hardly drank soya milk and i drank coffee every other day..my baby has fair skin like my husband

HAHAHA genes la babe! All the oldies like to say all these baseless things and all of them have expectations like they are the ones being pregnant all over again. One ear in one ear out hahaha

For coffee it's not old wives tale. Proven in my cousin both parents are fair but during my aunt pregnancy she crave black coffee daily. Now my cousin is super tan skin tone.

Thanks for the replies mummies! I feel so glad reading the comments and knowing I have done nothing wrong in terms of eating and drinking!🙂✌
