water to newborns

Hi mommies! My MIL says to give my 2 weeks baby a lil water to drink so that his body wont be heaty over drinking breastmilk. Will it harm my baby if I feed him a lil water?

Breastmilk is fundamentally water so there is no need to feed water. Avoid feeding newborns water at this age.

No need. Breast milk is not heaty. Water will make your baby full for nothing. Just feed breast milk!

Wait till 6 months . If heaty got sore throat..bring to PD to check

No water below 6 months, milk is enough for them at this age.

Dun need to give water till 6mo when they start solids.
