Is It Too Late?
Is it to late to change from private patient to subsidised patient at 18 weeks?
Nope not too late! :)
I think can change at anytime but u need to take into account the waiting time to be referred as subsidised.
No it’s not:)
- Hi, does anyone encountered this question in mind too? Is there a need to change the status from subsidized patient to private patient? Will it really make a big different?
The difference is having the same gynae see you for every consultation, and also they will be there to receive your baby/stitch you up/operate on you (if required). If you’re not particular about that, then many people are also subsidised patients and are happy about staying that way. Remember that when booking your room later on, if you’re a private patient, your baby automatically pays private rates too.Anonymous
- Is it better to be a subsidised or private patient at KKH? Im currently a private patient.. Was thinking of downgrading but not too sure if i should do so. Anybody has any experience to share? Thanks.
We are not with KKH but would like to share with you our experience. We are with a private hospital and we stayed with NUH in subsidised ward. I am disappointed that I could not provide my wife in enjoying the privacy in a single bed ward for her pregnancy in a private hospital, not even as private patient in NUH. We made this decision purely for the estimated million dollars bill in this triplets pregnancy if we stayed with the private hospital. My wife has had a tough pregnancy throughout, and we are in and out of A&E and warded frequently. Despite being a subsidised patient, NUH has a dedicated team of Professors, Consultants and healthcare professionals monitoring our pregnancy progress. The staff in NUH Clinic and Wards, including the housekeepers, are not only professional, they are dedicated, always giving encouragements and treated us with due respect as to be Dad and Mum. The meal served is healthy and may not be fantastic seemingly to me as compared to other hospitals, my opinion only, but we did have the luxury of going to Medical Centre, one of the three buildings in NUH, and did some dining and shopping. Today, we are proud parents, with our child safely delivered couple of months ago. We are indeed considering NUH for our future births.Anonymous
- My due date is in 3 weeks time. I am a subsidised patient at SGH. I have chosen class B2 upon admission and was told that I need to pay $692 as cash deposit. If i am not able to fork out this sum of money during admission will I be able to seek for financial assistance? I wasn’t aware that subsidised patient still need to pay deposit during admission. I thought only private patient in class A and B1 need to pay. Thats the reason why i change from private patient to subsidised patient.Anonymous
