Discipline baby

I'm currently WFH at my in laws and my MIL would discipline my 5mths old baby by letting him cry it out and scolding him for being naughty. I tried to intervene but she said I do not know how to discipline my baby and always spoil him. Anyone facing the same issue? Not sure What do I do as I do not want to cause any friction.

I think it's alil too early to discipline baby. And never ever let MIL intervene. She will want to have more control over baby one day.

No choice. More face time, more conflict. Hope its only temporary.
