If you have small kids, have you ever vacationed with your husband leaving the kids behind? My kids aren't too little anymore, but I'm worried about leaving them with my helper.

Oh no I will definitely not leave my kids alone with just the nanny or helper. I'd get one of my parents to stay over at my place or vice versa. That way, I know that in the event of an emergency, one of my family members will be around to make decisions on my behalf. What if the child falls sick and the helper does not know what to do -- so yeah, I'd let my kids stay behind but I will seek my parents' help to be there.
