Am I too sensitive or over-reacting? I have to feed my 10mo lunch/dinner during CNY at in-laws' place or relatives' homes. I really wish to feed her quickly, properly and safely. Am so peeved with my sis-in-law using a cold canned drink to tempt/tease my lo and distracting her during meal time all the time.Knowing that lo is mimicking sounds we make, sil clucks her tongue for lo to copy her. but hey, can she not wait til she finishes her meal? We all know how bad it is to tempt kids with forbidden food and junk.. ams how sharp the opened ring tabs of the can drink is. Then mil is asking 1001 questions abt lo's food. Did you cook it over the stove/on opened fire (coz i used thermos shuttle chef)? Why give so little? Why give same porridge for lunch/dinner? What did you give today? What is that black black thing? Why this..why that... Did anyone experience anything similar?

my mil used to carry my son out of high chair when he fuss. then i kept telling her my logic and how i wanted to train him to sit longer. so she stopped carrying her out until i finishes my dinner/ until i say ok. b4 my son was 1yo she cooks her porridge with fish sauce, and all sorts of seasoning. then i kept telling her his stomach is still young. too salty cannot. my son turned 1 in dec. today when cooking dinner she ask what seasoning i want for my son's egg. i said soya sauce. she was surprised. hahahaha... but i do let everyone knows that what is a big no no to feed my son. my in laws are usually alright with it.

Ignore and ignore..I used get pissed and all and will start defending my stand..but soon realised that some people just need to have a say.. If I ignore them totally and concentrate on feeding my lo they'll soon learn that their irritating ways are not being entertained and will stop soon.. As for ur sil's action, usually I'll "talk to my lo" like darling eat 1st then play OK?..or see what yiyi is showing u, it's a can drink which is so unhealthy mummy will not allow u to drink ya.. All said with a smile..

My first CNY with the my 7MO girl, I wasn't looking forward to begin with. I did settle her meal at home before we went out (which obviously was late by then haha). I left my LO with my MIL , turned my head away for 10secs and but caught my husband's relative feeding her a sweet drink. I WAs absolutely furious, i said stop, and couldn't help but rolled my eyes in front of everyone. Seriously?!

Anyway to add to my original post, I let everyone who is keen to carry my 10mo girl carry her. I kept myself occupied by chatting with the other relatives, whilst keeping close watch on her. Then baby started fussing and looking for me and my hubby. She started crying... So before I could get to her, my hubby's aunt said in mandarin old fashioned tease, 妈妈不要你了。 seriously?! cant these pple keep their stupid mouths shut? my girl is learning now and picking up things very fast. What they deem as a

Hahahah! so many times this happened to me. well it's normal i would say. since i don't always feed my child at relatives places. i just kept quiet and endure. if it's at husband relatives place i would give him a death stare and he would know what i meant. if i'm at my relatives places, i will just say my relatives.

Normal my fil did that all the time/ distracting the little one like want to carry him away from the dinner table when he is eating (just because my fil can't missed out 1 min of carrying) luckily my mil will say him. But my mil always asked me what iM feeling my little one too ...

When I have to feed @ others’ place , I usually do it in a separate room without them. My excuse is my little one gets distracted easily & wont finish his food

Perfectly normal. Not only relatives but it will happen anywhere. Its tolerable to me, afterall its once a year and its not something life threatening
