If you can afford it, I believe a half-day till 4 or 5 p.m. is preferable. I'm not an educator, but I am a childhood development expert, and I believe that some form of schooling is beneficial for all toddlers in terms of socializing and skill acquisition. They benefit from spending time with you as well, thus a half-day seems like a fair solution to me.
