I had my 1st child at 20 too. Married for a year only before we divorced. It was not a pleasant one but I got the full custody of my son. 2 yrs later, I remarried and had 4 more children with my now husband. I started taking family planning pills after the birth of my 2nd child. But the 3rd one was an accident. I stopped taking the pill for a while cos the side effect was so bad & I got pregnant the month after. Then we planned ourselves without using any contraception method at all. 3 yrs later, we planned for my 4th. Decided to stop at 4 but then I started missing having a baby very badly. Then we decided to have another baby, 10 yrs later. Yes, 10 years apart from my 4th. Our youngest is now an 8 mths old infant. There will be a time when you'll start missing being pregnant and having a baby again. So my advice is go with the birth controls that you remove. You may never know if you ever want a baby again given that you're still young.

I wld honestly suggest IUCD. I almost did what you thought of doing then coz I thought having 3 kids is enough. I had my first child at 20 too. 17.5yrs down the road, my ex husband had an affair. We ended up in an ugly divorce. Kids are all grown up, my eldest being in polytechnic. I hv now re-settled with someone new & got my IUCD of 15yrs removed last May. I’m so glad I chose IUCD over permanent birth control. I’m now happily married & pregnant. Take my words of advice.. We can’t predict the future. People change over time.. circumstances change over time..

There are quite a few reversible birth controls which are very effective, please check with my a gynae for options. I can't imagine having more than 3 kids, but 20+ is pretty young and your mentality can change with time so I can understand where your mom is coming from.

IUCD is better , as u dunno what happens to your future. I was happily married with my husband and after 12 years , he left me for a younger woman . But i got remarried and settled down with my new husband and got 2 kids with him now .

Theres always a way out.. basically u can be injected (birth control) for 5years only… pls consult further advice from doctor.. i heard a lot of my friends did this…

Do Consult gynae or doctor for best advice form your situation.
