Hello there! They take a while to settle down, what you can do to reassure her is to start a routine from the moment she wakes up until the moment you drop her off - simple things could be getting dressed for school, having milk/snack before school, carrying her otw to school etc - all the way talking to her about what she can expect in school and what time you'd be coming to pick her up ... and then keep your promise! It takes a while for them to build rapport with the teachers, but it'll be fine after :) My son took 1.5-2 weeks to settle down (not crying when I drop him off), and then he moved on to love school ... a little too much :x

Yes Kimchi, as parents we need to ride the wave and pass the storm. We need to be strong for them. So I'll say, monitor closely and give her time. Don't give up and continue reassuring. This is provided all is well at school and there is nothing suspicious. Better be cautious still.

my boy does not have any security items..so what I do is plant kisses into his hands and ask him to keep the kisses in his pocket.. I told him that he can take those kiss out whenever he misses him b4 I arrives to pick him up

That is a really cute idea! I will try that with my girls :)

Yes he finally starting to settle. He has a classmate that is also the same. I felt so relieved knowing that I was not the only one. 2weeks is still early. Better to let her continue. Just my thoughts.

Yup, I feel that my girl should still continue for now and see how it goes after a couple of months. Thanks for your sharing :)

Does she have a security item? Alternatively keep explain, and reassuring your child. A routine is very important as well, that would help the child to know what to expect.

Nope, she doesn't have any, security item. I have assured her many times but she still cries.

Yes Kimchi, whole year, till the extend that he wake up only. He will hide under the blanket saying school close. It was very traumatic. 2 weeks pretty normal la.

Wow one whole year?! This is the longest that I have heard. But it's good that he is more settled now right? My girl's grandma thought of pulling her out from CC already but the daddy definitely don't wish for that.

other then a watch, maybe a toy or a security blanket. I guess the teacher doesn't want her to loose the watch in school.

Kimchi give your bub sometime. How long has this been going in for you? It took me a year before my boy settled down.

Wow..did your boy cry everytime he went to school for one whole year? This is my girl's second week. According to the teachers she will cry on and off.

Bring something like her blanket / pillow or her Favourite toys
