Choosing an OBGYN

Hi experienced parents, I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and this is my first baby. I would like to ask for your advice on choosing a good OBGYN and what we should look out for when choosing a good doctor. I am currently at KKH under subsidized rates but feeling very uncomfortable as the follow-up has been poor. They gave me some scares initially - bicornuate uterus, threatened miscarriage (3x) and went through a lot of testing but when I ask for results at the next appointment somehow they cannot find it! And I had to press the doctors to look for the results. After that I decided to go to TMC based on my friends' recommendation. The charges are expensive. The dr is slightly better at follow up but not so reassuring. I have been issues with bleeding everyday (brown spotting) but 3 cases of fresh bleed and I have to keep paying almost $200 each visit when I bleed. Up till now, there is no news on the cause and still waiting for a 2nd infection test. I'm wondering if anyone went through the same experience and was able to find a good OBGYN who was able to manage all these issues? If not, should I try to be less anxious and stick with TMC and trust the process?

Hi, I had 2 miscarriages previously (18weeks & 8 weeks). I am currenly 19weeks pregnant. For this pregnancy, i had spotting when I was 5weeks preggie all the way till 14 weeks. Baby & mummy are good /stable now. I have seen many doctors (Thomson/Mount E/KKH) to seek advice & ensure baby is doing well. If you feel comfortable with Thomson gynae, stick with it. If you go KK under private, you get to chose & see the same doctor and charges are almost similar to Thomson about $200 a visit. Ask your gynae if you are suitable for proluton jab & dydrogesterone tablets. I took the injection every 2 weeks and tablets 3times a day. It helps to stabilize the pregnancy & my spotting stop. I pray that mummy & baby are safe!

hi, I also have bleeding with my previous pregnancy, my gynae dr Tracey Lim from Tow Yung Clinic is very attentive, for my first trimester I see her like 10 times, bcos of the bleeding and blood in my uterus. Her package started at the 2nd appointment, so I don't have to pay for consultation eachtime I come. But her delivery charge is a bit at the higher side. she really helps me during my whole pregnancy. and she is pro normal delivery.

Go to a gynae clinic instead , they are faster than a hospital . I paid for the package which cost around $1,200 . They have a hotline to call for emergency and WhatsApp . Go to TMC for delivery .

Go gynae clinic. I gave birth last year and my package is 1k. Delivery at mt.A. He is a pro natural. But in the end I have to c sec. but his stitches is really good. Able to walk at 2nd day
