At present, there is no common consensus on whether teething causes symptoms such as fever, diarrhea and fussiness. Some experts feel that these symptoms are unrelated to teething. It is suggested that these symptoms are more likely brought on by the fact that babies frequently put things into their mouths to soothe their gums, increasing their exposure to viruses and other germs. Regardless, here are some signs commonly associated with teething: - irritability or fussiness - drooling (could lead to facial rash) - gum swelling and sensitivity - gnawing or chewing behaviour - refusing food - sleep problems For more information on signs of teething: http://www.babycenter.com/0_teething-your-babys-first-teeth_11243.bc And here is an article with a list of home remedies to help ease your baby’s teething pain: http://sg.theasianparent.com/10-home-remedies-for-teething-pain/

There isn't any scientific link between teething and diarrhoe but it does bring about low grade fever. My daughter had mild fever each time she was teething and I would put on a fever patch at her forehead to bring the fever down instead of giving her paracetomol. However, if your child has a high fever, please bring her to the doctor as soon as possible.

yes teething can cause diarrhea as babies try to chew on anything and everything they can lay their hands on to ease the discomfort. as a result, they often get exposed to a lot of germs and hence it leads to diarrhea. i would suggest you let your baby bite on chilled carrot sticks, teething rings and so on, and clean them regularly.
