Durians are high in calories, with 1 durian containing 1,350 calories on average (about half of an adult's caloric needs). Pregnant women with gestational diabetes should avoid consuming durians as it is high in sugar and carbohydrates. The mother will process all the nutrients before the baby receives it through the umbilical cord, so expect to gain more weight. I did consume durians a few times during the last trimester of my pregnancy, and my baby did go from 19th percentile during her 32nd week fetal scan to being born a baby with a very healthy weight (3.2kg at 39 weeks 4 days). https://www.healthxchange.com.sg/News/Pages/My-Super-Duper-Big-Baby.aspx
