My boyfriend keeps on insisting that I visit his mother as he is out of country, I don't mind visiting. I already asked his mother if I could come by tomorrow and she said it's better if we should communicate through sms, reason is-- she'll miss her son even more if she gets to see me. I talked to my boyfriend about this, and he still insists to visit. I'm too shy to ask again

Maybe explain to your boyfriend that you are very much willing to visit his mother, however, he needs to talk to his mother first and inform her that he wants you to visit her. Tell him that you're just worried that his mother might feel disrespected if you show up even if she said that you communicate via SMS for now.
