Being a Pedia and a first time mom during this pandemic, I learned to be brave enough to vaccinate my own child. Sa totoo lang, mahirap pala kasi the first time I vaccinated her, I cried when she cried. Iba yung feeling kapag Mommy ka na talaga. As much as possible ayaw mo masasaktan ang anak mo.
But I always made it a point to talk to my daughter and tell her that I would be vaccinating her and I would also be explaining to her why I need to vaccinate her.
Now that she is 15months old, whenever I ask her if she wants injection, of course ang sagot nya ay NO but when I ask her kung para saan ang vaccination, she would say "para strong and healthy".
So mga mommies, try to explain it to your kids also na important ang bakuna. I also learned from Doc Nicole's webinar sa launch na:
1. Huwag ipanakot ang mga Doctor and ang injection. Dito kasi nagsstart ang fear ng mga bata sa injection.
2. Be Honest sa kanila na may kaunting sakit or discomfort. Wag sabihin na hindi masakit yun. Para alam rin ng bata ang ieexpect nila.
3. Tell them it's ok to cry and pwede rin bigyan ng reward like their favorite food after bakuna.
