Fasting at Week 5 of Pregnancy

Assalamualaikum mummies. I’m pregnant for the first time and is at Week 5, is it safe to puasa? I’ve asked some people and they said that it’s okay to puasa. Went to see 2 Docs, 1 said that it is fine - another said it’s not recommended as I’m still at first trimester with my first baby, hence it’s worrying that my baby might not got sufficient nutrients it needs. To be honest I’m actually pretty worried that if I continue fasting it’ll affect my pregnancy. Can you please share your opinion & experience? Thanks.

Hi Waalaikummussalam Puan. Di harap puan dengan baby dalam keadaan sihat sentiasa amin. Berpuasa sewaktu hamil ni bergantung kepada daya kekuatan seseorang. Jenis pengambilan makanan juga penting untuk memberikan tenaga sepanjang berpuasa. Puan boleh cuba berpuasa separuh hari dahulu dan jika puan rasa puan larat boleh berpuasa penuh. Kerana ianya tidak wajib untuk ibu mengandung berpuasa ya puan. Pastikan bayi juga dalam keadaan aktif dan sihat sepanjang menjalankan ibadah puasa.
