💡 Ask the Expert: How to Handle a Divorce (Part 2)

If I am on a DP and he is on an EP what is the first step I should take? What constitutes separation? Living alone? Does one need to divorce or is just separation an avenue? Cos assume DP will be cancelled if we divorce? I am not working and we have two young children making things very complicated in the current circumstance. I am scared if I leave to my home country I cannot come back. What kind of support can I expect and can we file for joint custody?
