My Birth Story (July 26, 2020)

6:00am I woke up due to on and off abdominal pain radiating to my back. I monitored it as I experienced regular contraction coming every 9-11 mins mild to slightly more intense. I actually brushed it off coz for me it wasn’t that intense enough and it’s really manageable, so I thought it was just a braxton hicks contraction (false labor). 7:00am I experienced a sudden gush of fluid from my vagi 😬 and that’s the time when I realized that my water just broke 😱 I stayed calm and told jingo that we need to go to the hospital but first we have to take a bath and asked him to double check our hospital bags and eat his breakfast. I took a shower, dress up, and even did a light make up 🤣 jingo was like “ ano ba? Hindi naman kailangan magmake up “, balak ko pa sana magmake up ng bongga eh kasi gusto ko maganda akong manganganak at maglabor, Kaya tinted sunscreen lang tuloy at cheek tint ang nailagay ko 🙄🤣 nakapagkilay pa ako pero sa sasakyan na 😜 When we were on our way to the hospital there was no traffic & we didn’t experienced any hassle in every quarantine checkpoint area.🙏🏻 9:00am We made it at the Hospital and went straight to emergency room. My contraction was examined and monitored as well as my baby’s heart rate. Upon admission the result of my initial internal examination was already at 5CM dilated cervix. 9:30am I was transferred to the labor room for monitoring while waiting for my Doctor/midwife. My contraction was getting more and more intense but It was still bearable. 10:00am My doctor arrived and examined me, she asked the nurses to put oxytocin in my IV to help my contraction to increase further. The nurse even ask me to remain calm because after a few mins the medicine that they gave me will make my contraction more painful, I asked her if what’s their estimated time until I reach 10cm, she answered me that it depends on the respond of my body and respond of the baby but definitely around 2pm daw kasi bababa si baby 1cm per hour. 10:30am that’s the time when I felt the pain of labor. It was now unbearable and I experienced dyspnea—shortness of breathe. 😩 I was so irritated, I was screaming “Jesus Help, It Hurts!”, I was sweating a lot and I kept on asking the nurse if I can sit up or walk around but they didn’t allow me to do that, I was just allowed to lay on my left side. 😣 The Hospital Policy doesn’t allow any watchers inside labor room but with God’s favor, my doctor allowed Jingo to accompany me the whole time 🙏🏻 During my labor, Jingo was so patient, supportive and so loving, he tried his best to cheer me up, we were listening some worship songs and he was praying for me. I was also talking to my baby begging her to come out because I can’t bear the excruciating pain anymore. 11:00am I told the nurse that I feel like pooping, they immediately examined me and they were shookt when I am already 8CM dilated. They asked me to calm down and to take a deep breath while waiting for my Doctor. Wag daw muna ako iire 😅 It’s really funny coz my doctor/midwife was currently operating another patient who’s also giving birth via C-Section. And you know what’s more funny? Bautista rin surname ng kasabay kong manganganak 🤣 11:30AM I was transferred to delivery room. The nurses and my doctors were trying to cheer me up while they prepare the stuff they need, they joke around and say things that would calm me. They were very nice to me and very supportive. Everything was fast, I remember when they started lifting my legs up, the head nurse started to tell me exactly what to do/ how to push. I was just listening to them but Im not really sure what to do, all I can think is that I want to start already and get the baby out as fast as possible 🤯 I can still remember the feeling when the Doctor cut me down there and then she asked me calmly “joy, tatlong push lang tayo ha” and I just agreed to it 🤷🏻‍♀️ by God’s grace, I was able to managed to get my baby out with 3 pushes 😩 (yup! Ganun ako ka obedient 😂) I literally felt everything because there was no medication given to me (No epidural). 🤯🤯 Ramdam ko kung paano lumabas yung ulo ni baby hanggang sa magslide buong katawan niya 😳 It was crazy!!!!! 😵 11:45am Our baby Selah was born 😍 The moment I heard my baby’s first cry was one of the most emotional and one of the best moments of my life. 🤍 Everything went so fast and smoothly, It was indeed an answered prayer 🙏🏻 I felt the Guidance, Mercy, Favor, Provision, Love and Miracle of God🥺🤍 His presence was there with me all the way 😭 It’s been 9 months since our daughter was born. It’s tiring but seeing her smile gives us strength and joy 🤍 Jingo was a great dad and husband since day 1, he has no complain waking up early in the morning to change Selah’s diapers, bathing her, preparing meals for me & doing some house chores. He’s been very patient, gentle and loving. 🤍 I am so blessed 😊 #1stimemom #firstbaby

Congrats mommy!
