How true is it that contact with water or washing hair will cause wind in the body and lead to headache and rheumatism later in life? Does using herbs in my water help with regards to this?

Hmmm i don't think this is part of Malay confinement practices. And alot of my Chinese friends don't follow this "pantang" anymore. I read that this taboo originated from ancient China where water would freeze quickly and hot/warm water is not easily available. So in that case, yes there is some truth to it. But I reckon with warm water easily available, showering or taking baths during confinement should be okay. Immediately dry yourself after shower and all should be okay :)

What should I NOT do during a wonder week?

During a Wonder Week, moms and dads will go through a myriad of emotions. They might feel worried, concerned, exhausted, annoyed, trapped, pressured, insecure and basically overwhelmed. I've heard of some mommies wanting to quit breastfeeding because of their child's wonder week. Do not spiral too much into the negative emotions and control your feelings, as much as you can. Keep calm and remember that this all will pass soon :)

Science has created artificial sperms and they have started breeding mice with it. This brings us a step close to making men a nice to have but not a necessity in the reproductive process. How do you feel about it? It's great science has progressed to such a level that we don't need sperms anymore, but I would reproduce with someone I love not because I want kids and need a sperm to enable that to happen

How long does a baby's memory last? Parents leave their babies over 6 weeks at IFC all the time for 8 hours a day, but they don't seem to have forgotten mama when she returns. What about if you left a 6 month old with her grandparents for a whole weekend...would she forget then upon your return?

I don't see how will the baby forget. baby has been in your tummy for nine whole months and been living as a part of you. they won't forget you.

Anyone has recommendations for English enrichment school?

My daugther goes i-creative (clementi branch) since she is N1. I find the english school helps her to build a very strong interest in phonics and english writing foundation. Now she is in K2 class and they started to teach grammar already. I like icl as the programme offered is very systematic and guarantee effective. For clementi branch, there is no change of teacher at all, unlike some enrichment centres where the turnover is quite high.
