My no.1 traveled by plane when she is 2 months old. Yes, there is a risk of catching bugs in the plane. You may want to choose to travel during non peak season so there will be less people traveling. Also, try to give breastmilk or latch when the plane is taking off and landing so to ease the air pressure discomfort in baby's ears.
