What do you do when your baby sucks only one breast.

Our nipples are not necessary the same shape, so baby may have preference of one over the other. 2 ways I can think of.. 1. When baby is hungry, offer the side he/she doesn’t like first. When baby sees that the thirst/hunger is satisfied, they may continue to want to latch. 2. If baby refuses one side no matter what, feed with the desired side first. Then when baby’s very drowsy and suckling for comfort, switch to the other side and let baby suckle for comfort. Keep offering both sides and don’t give up. It’s a form of training for the baby, but most of the time, he/she will get there:) If nothing improves, seek help from a lactation consultant:)
