What's your take on baby monthsaries? Do you think it's necessary?

It really depends on your values and how you do celebrations in the family. In our family, we did celebrate the first 12 months of our 2 kids every month with a cake and a simple celebration as a form of thanksgiving for the gift of life. We would also take photos of the babies and compile them so that when the baby reaches his 1st birthday, we include the compilation of photos in the party set up.

I think there isn't anything wrong with celebrating baby monthsaries because it's one way of showing gratitude and celebration that your baby has surpassed another month. We used to celebrate every month but we make sure it's nothing too fancy. A cake, pasta and one ulam can do for us. Lavish monthly celebrations are too much, me thinks.

I think it's awesome but not a requirement. :) Personally, we celebrated my kids' halfie birthday with family and friends. But we make it a point to spend time together as a family every month on our kid's monthsary.
