What are some life lessons I can teach my children that they can only learn in the Philippines?

For me, as cliche as it may sound, it's the saying "blood is thicker than water." Filipinos are very much known for their filial love and close family ties, to which all other traits blossom from. I personally believe that if we feel loved and secured within our own family, we grow up into better individuals. So I think it's best to teach our kids to love our families first, then they'll make it a habit and learn other people.

One is, "the more you give, the more you get". It's pretty amazing how a stranger is always welcome in any Pinoy home, with a hot meal waiting, no matter how humble. The Filipino is always willing to give and share and I think that's partly why we're the most joyful people in the world.
