You can refer to this website for first foods suggestion (6-8months). http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/solidfood6to8montholdbaby.htm For my babies, their first foods include avocado, mango, banana, pumpkin, and plums. I started with fruits first then slowly venture into leafy vegetables. It is important to follow the “four day wait” rule when introducing your baby to new solid foods and even more important if your family has a history of food allergies. When you introduce a new food over the course of several days, you are better able to determine exactly how your baby is reacting to that food. We started our daughter with stewed and mashed apples and pears first, then we introduced stewed and mashed carrots and pumpkin. Grains such as organic brown rice and oats were introduced a bit later on, followed by starchy vegetables such as potatoes and sweet potatoes. Proteins such as lentils and egg were introduced when she was almost one year old.
You can start with starchy veggies such as sweet potato, potato and pumpkin. Rice cooked until very soft and mixed with breastmilk is also a good option. If you prefer a cereal, then try an organic brown rice cereal. Fruits come next. Papaya, slightly boiled and pureed apple and pear are favourites too.
If your baby is breastfed, mix your milk with cooked ground grains so the taste is familiar. We started our daughter on soft veggies but she preferred ground white rice cooked in water and breastmilk. We reintroduced veggies later on.
