It's a myth. TV has been linked to so many things: inactivity, poor health, and obesity but there is no strong evidence so far that watching a lot of television will lead to ADHD. There was a study in 2004 that found a link between increased TV viewing and attention problems (not ADHD) but even that, is inconclusive.

No, watching TV doesn't cause ADHD. Studies still haven't proven this. But yes, TV viewing should be as less as possible for the kids. Involve them in something more constructive and get them a lot of outdoor play time.
