You can encourage them to learn new things pero it's also important to ask them if they are interested in doing it. Parang sa pagbili lang din yan ng laruan, I always ask them if they want it kasi ayoko na pagdating sa bahay matatambak lang. It may sound petty but I've read somewhere that you have to let your children choose in order for them to become independent and it also helps them gain self-confidence later on.
