The closeness of the parent-child connection throughout life results from how much parents connect with their babies, right from the beginning. (reading from www.ahaparenting.com). Perhaps you can try to do some activities with your baby? For instance, if your baby is less than 12 months old, can try to prepare a treasure baskets, create a basket with musical toys, some recycles items that safe for babies, etc to capture his/her attention and you can play with your baby. This is very normal as baby sees your wife for longer hours and has separation anxiety towards your wife. My husband also my kids' playmate only and they will still look for me when they suddenly 'remember' me. What you can do is, spend alone time with baby without your wife's presence. When I am around in the house, my kids will stick to me too but when I am not around they turn to daddy.
