hi there, I'm in week 20 and I switched to private route after the first appointment as subsidized. My gynae now is Dr Liu Shu Ling, never regretted my decision (even though I was charged Private Rate for all the tests following after). I switched to private after my first appointment (subsidised) 👉 because the doctor looked visibily stressed out when I revealed about my autoimmune disorder and immediately paged for her senior to attend to me. That caused me to feel like something was really wrong with me, stressed me out and I began to worry about the growing foetus then. When her senior arrive, her answers to my questions were clipped and she made me feel like I'm asking stupid questions. After everytime she replied my question, she will add "if there is nothing else, you can go." The vibe was to quickly to end the session & have me out. I don't like it one bit. I'm a first-time mum, why do I feel so unsupported and uneasy here? It's totally different with Dr Liu. She answers ALL my questions patiently and in detail. Every appointment, she reassures that my concerns & my experiences are normal and there is nothing wrong with me. When she ordered for a test or prescribe a certain medicine, she explains clearly why and how it'll help me have a healthier/ safer pregnancy. 1st consultation with her is a hundred forty something dollar, repeated visit is a hundred plus. the monthly appointment's ultrasound is done by her. However, the ultrasound part of FTS and ultrasound part to check the baby's growth, vital organs & gender 👉 done by the sonographers at ADC. they will send the report to her & she will review with me. hope this helps :)
Hi, I am a fellow ivf mummy at 10 weeks. I am now with the high risk team - aka stork centre. Essentially I still see gynae at clinic B like any other mummies but the team of doctors are to care for my condition. I have diabetes prior to ivf pregnancy. Having a singleton now. When I saw the high risk team last week for the first time, I felt quite comfortable with them. They had 2 endocrine doctors to oversee my diabetic condition and 2 gynae, meaning I saw 4 doctors at once in one room. 1 of the endocrine specialist and 1 of the gynae took the lead to address my different questions. They were very nice and helpful towards my questions. They were sort of strict because they were firm on wanting me to adjust my diet even further to control the glucose levels, but I felt taken care of by good professionals. I’m not sure if you wanna change to private now because the costs of the tests would be more ex. For example, FTS under subsidized route is $174, but private is $300 . NIPT is $700 for private route. For subsidized, you need to take FTS, if it’s high risk, you can opt for NIPT, but only pay $300 . If you choose to go straight to NIPT even on subsidized route, then it’s $700 too.
Price is gonna increase for NIPT, was told today private rate $749, after subsidy $5XX (can’t recall), 01/06/22 onwards $795, after subsidy $600
Really?? I had a pretty good experience under KKH subsidiary during my first trimester. The only complain is the waiting time. I had stitch pain and light bleeding at the start (threatened miscarriage). Doctor just calm me down and ask me to take it easy cause in the long term, we want the embryo/foetus to be healthy. My private doctor also quite nonchalant but very steady and reassuring.
yea, the previous pregnancy visits wasn’t great.. thank you for sharing! ☺️
Hi, i was from subs kkh and I convert to private kkh. The treatment and care it’s definitely different. My In Law recommend me Dr Tan Shu Qi, the Dr herself do the scan for me.
Thank you for sharing more info! ☺️
if you are under private route. you will see the same fix gynae that you have chosen and he/she will personally do the scan for you every visit.
