When should i start taking leave before EDD?

Hi mothers, May i know when do you think is a good time to start taking leave before EDD/planned delivery? I want to maintain healthy final weeks and get ready for labour, but yet want to spend my maternity leave as long after baby birth as possible! Please let me know your thoughts, and what were your considerations? Thank you!

I took 4 weeks HL prior to EDD due to asthma. Private hospital gynae wld be more willing to give though. So if you're with private gynae, you may want to to ask if he can grant u any HL so tt u don't have to use ur maternity leave earlier. Some of my friends still managed to get a week or 2 before EDD, they informed their gynaes tt they had very bad ache/ swollen feet or shortness of breath.

Don't need to admit. It's a bed rest HL.

Super Mum

I never take leave before EDD as I was feeling ok and still able to work. I feel better to save my maternity leave for later as baby need checkup, vaccinations etc. Depends on you actually.

i took 2 weeks before EDD cos i worry baby will come out earlier and i don wan to have drama in office haha, and yes my baby end up came out 2 weeks earlier.

I don't plan to take too early because I don't want to wait at home and become more and more nervous.

take a month before your edd cause usually baby will come earlier.. so that you are well rested

i took 2 weeks before edd due to fatigue. used it to prepare for baby arrival n mostly to nap

I had 6 weeks of hl before edd then once my labour start, my ml begins.

my ML start on the day of CSec so I've full 4months with baby
