It’s best for baby to latch on for at least 15 minutes on one side to ensure both the foremilk (more watery, quenches thirst) and hindmilk (thicker, more fatty and nutritious) go into baby’s tummy. By pumping out the other side, you ensure that when you feed that batch of milk to baby later on, all the nutrients will also be adequate for that feed:)

I was just wondering would latching one side be enough or I have to wake him up to latch the other side if he falls asleep...
