In other countries, kids address their parents using their first names while not so much in India. I am not in favor of addressing them by their first names? What are your opinions parents?

I agree. kids need to know that each one needs to be treated with respect. they need to know that there are higher official who require to be given respect by calling them Sir, your honor, ma'am, doctor etc. will they call such person also by their name? parents teach a lot of life skills from home itself. Indian culture requires that people should show respect even when their names are used....in Hindi we use terms like Aap, saheb, huzoor, instead of the standard English You, for everything and everyone. these differences need to be understood by kids and implemented. but that happens when we as parents set right example.
