I don't have a question...I just wanted to say something... A note to the parents of students before the start of Exams. I know you are really anxious for your child to do well! But please do remember, amongst the students who will be sitting for exams, There is an artist who doesn’t need to understand Maths. There is an entrepreneur, who doesn’t care about History or English Literature. There is a musician, whose chemistry marks won’t matter, There is an athlete, whose physical fitness is more important than physics, If your child does get top marks that’s great I f he or she doesn’t, please don’t take away their self confidence and dignity from them. Tell them its ok; it’s just an exam, They are cut out for much bigger things in life. Tell them no matter what they score, you love them and will not judge them, Please do this and when you do, watch your children conquer the world. One exam or a low mark won’t take away their dreams and their talent, Please do not think that doctors and engineers are the only happy people in the world. With warm regards,
My 18 yr old son suffers from indigestion and heartburn in the morning. He's into the habit of not eating breakfast before going to college. And eating trash at erratic times. Pls suggest some remedy. Totally clueless on what to give him for breakfast also as he just doesn't eat anything...help...
Sorry dears, was out of town with extremely bad internet access... But I'm back...I know I missed a lot...but I'll keep up... I would like to know what defines a true friend?? Want to use this topic in our family discussion for my kids...
Keeping in mind the volatile situation in our country and the fact that most issues like rapes, molestation, robbery, getting beaten up, pushed around etc happen mostly because people are ignorant, gullible and unprepared.... shouldnt there be more training institutes that teach basic know how of criminal mindset and some steps and guidance on how to take care of ourselves? There are classes that teach everything under the sun, but this I still have yet to see. These should be taken up in societies and communities...instd of just relying on a few security guards, shouldn't there also be something the whole neighborhood can do? What's the suggestion all can give here?
Scenario:- you are in ur car with ur kids. Husband is driving. Suddenly a car from behind overtakes ur car without signal rather rashly. As the car passed by, u all notice it's a lady driver. Husband huffs angrily and says" woman driver.!!... but naturally...". Kids start to laugh and husband joins in. How do u react? What's your emotions about what's being taught unwittingly to ur kids?
A friend of mine is a bit worried about security reasons as times have really bad especially for a girl who travels alone. Her daughter travels to college sometimes in rickshaw or cabs with a college friend who lives nearby her area. This friend is a boy and very chivalrous. He ensures that he drops my friends daughter to her home first and then goes home. But my friend worries that something shouldn't go wrong in their daily commute. The horrors we daily face of molestation, rape, robbery and murders are scaring her to the point of putting a lot of restrictions on her daughter. What tips can she give to her kid for helping her remain guarded?
Boarding school.... regular school....or home schooling.. What's the best for children and parents? Especially keeping in mind the emotional and mental impacts it creates in children and parents.
What's the best way to combat bullying or ragging? Does tit for tat always work?
