im afraid that my son has autism. He is now 1 yr and 7 months but dont respond to his name all the name. He also dont want to be around or go to other people except me and his father (parrtly because were the only one whos always around, we dont let him out oftern), he can follow instructions like clap your hands, bless, sometimes he does but most oftern he dont. The only word he can say right now is papa. Do you think he has autism or just delay development or is this normal? Thank You.

Don't jump into conclusion muna. Same kasi ang situation ng anak natin noon. Have you ever thought na baka may hearing problems ang anak mo kaya hindi sya nagrerespond? I suggest you go to a reliable pedia for proper detection. May napuntahan kaming pedia noon. Wala pang 15 minutes nyang nakikita ang anak namin, nagsabi agad sya ng "May kakaiba sa anak nyo. Ipaschedule natin sya sa developmental pedia na kilala ko." Na-offend kami. 18 months na yata yung son ko that time at puro irit at sigaw lang ang way of communicating nya. Kami lang dalawa ang magkasama sa bahay. Daddy nya sa gabi umuuwi. Lahat ng neighborhood na tinirhan namin eh subdivision na halos lahat ng adults nagtatrabaho, so kalimitan walang tao sa bahay. Kung may kids, kalimitan mga 10 years old and up. So wala syang makalaro. 7 years old na ang son namin ngayon, Grade 2. Bilingual sya, mostly English. So if I were you, magsurvey ka muna kung sino yung pedia na pwede nyong lapitan. Yung hindi basta-basta magbibigay ng komento ng hindi man lang ino-observe.

Long hours of screen time really affects kids. Focus on your child's socialization skills. Kami noon, talagang kahit malayo sa bahay yung park ng subdivision, pinipilit namin dalhin yung anak namin at 3 to 4 times a week. Doon rin kasi dinadala yung mga kids na ka-age nya. Kahit isa o dalawang bata ang makalaro nya, accomplishment na yun for us. Tapos pag may invitation for children's party, gora kami kasi maraming bata doon. Tapos yung mga kapatid ko, tinuturuan sya ng ibat ibang English and Tagalog words everyday. Gagayahin yung sounds and eventually masasabi na nya ng deretso. Malaki ang struggle nya sa pagsasalita until mag-Nursery sya nung 4 years old sya.
