White and yellow discharge.
Mga mhiema, tanong ko lang po if hindi po ba delikado na may white/yellow discharge ka? Yung sakin hindi naman makati pero ang daming lumalabas and napaka-uncomfy sa pakiramdam. Any tips para maalis yon? #First_Baby

During the 2nd to 3rd trimester, white discharge is usually normal and common—it’s called leukorrhea. Normal discharge (leukorrhea) - Causes: Hormonal changes (increased estrogen) boost blood flow to the vaginal area and stimulate the cervix to produce more mucus. This mucus helps form a "mucus plug" that seals the uterus, protecting the fetus from infections. - Characteristics: Thin, milky white or clear, with a mild or no odor. It may increase as pregnancy progresses, especially in the 3rd trimester. When to worry (abnormal discharge) Contact your healthcare provider if the discharge has: - A thick, cottage-cheese texture (may signal a yeast infection, common in pregnancy due to altered vaginal pH). - A strong, fishy odor (could indicate bacterial vaginosis). - A green/yellow color or frothy consistency (possible trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection). - Accompanying symptoms: itching, burning, pain during urination, pelvic discomfort, or blood. - Watery consistency that soaks through underwear (may be leaking amniotic fluid, which requires immediate medical attention). Always consult your OB-GYN if you’re unsure—they can safely diagnose and treat any issues to protect you and your baby.
