I'm not a lawyer or a judge and the following does not constitute as legal advise. For godsake, child support in essence is paid to the child. Each party responsibility starts at 50:50. If one party is worried that the other party might spend not on the child, that party can insist to pay into the CDA account. CDA account for most part can only be used on the child. Yes, there are people who use children as little bags of money, but Singapore Judges are very smart now so as long you can present your point reasonably, it will be difficult for the other party to profit off the child. Example : Maid cost $600 SGD, one can argue to divide by number of people in the household divided by 2. 600 / 2 /2 = $150 only. Food - quote is marginal cost, Clothes -> cannot be every month buy new clothes? There after the total cost come out, you can say you pay allowance directly to the child and a portion go to CDA account for school fees. At the end of the day, the one take care of the child is kind of expect to lose some money financially but time with child is priceless ;)
