newborn feeding

I am really dont know what to do now... I feed my baby for nearly 40mins..after ten mins she starts crying for milk again. Then I gave for 20mins then made her sleep..but she didnt sleep and still needs milk. Im totally tired of sitting n lying for feeding. Why she is like this? I asked dr and he said its newborn baby she will be like that only. I am really depressed n sad . Please help me

Actually not every cry is a need for milk. It can be loneliness/fear/insecurity, etc. Latching on solves everything at one shot.. whether filling the hunger or keeping her secure, since she’s close to you. You can try using a tight swaddle and holding her close to you, instead, and walk around a little. You can also try patting her firmly (cup your hand) to call her down. Don’t be depressed.. it gets better okay? My LO used to nurse on me for 2 hrs
