I think it is quite common for some ladies to miss the baby’s kicks and movements after giving birth. It does not suggest that you are having Postpartum Depression (PPD). However, just to be on the safe side, do you feel a sense of loss (kind of like unable to adjust to the idea that the baby is no longer inside you?) associated with missing those movements? If it is just a general sentiment, I think you have nothing to worry about. If there are some negative feelings associated with it, you may want to keep a lookout for other signs. If you find yourself feeling down almost all the time, it is one key warning sign. You can refer to these two articles for more signs of PPD to watch out for: [This article described the symptoms in easy-to-relate way] http://www.postpartumprogress.com/the-symptoms-of-postpartum-depression-anxiety-in-plain-mama-english [And this article highlighted eight symptoms that are not often mentioned] http://sg.theasianparent.com/8-unexpected-symptoms-of-postpartum-depression/ It is good that you are aware of PPD and could keep a lookout for signs that may indicate when help is needed. Having good support around you will help act as a buffer and would certainly help you through adapting to your new role. Always talk to your loved ones if in times of stress. Feeling the occasional blue and getting frustrated is normal. Take care!!

You had carried your baby in your womb for months! It's normal that you miss your baby's movement in your belly right after delivery! Some symptoms of post natal depression include feeling unhappy, wanting to hurt yourself or baby, general negative feeling, loss of interest in your usual favourite activities and loss of appetite.

It's perfectly normal, as you started to feel baby's movement for about 4-5months in your belly and suddenly the kicks are gone. It took quite some times for me to get used to the 'empty' belly, about 1 month.

Firstly - congrats mummy!!!! Next, it's really quite normal to miss babies kicks in belly. Watch how you feel for next few weeks before labeling what you have as PND. :)

thanks
