how to not spoil my child ?

We do not buy toys for our children unless there’s an occasion. They get plenty of toys already. I want them to feel contented with what they have and not keep on asking for more if it’s a “want” and not a “need.” I’m also very strict with my kids. I do get mad at them, but only if break a rule intentionally.
