How do I naturally treat ant bites in a toddler? My two-year-old plays in the mud a lot.

Ant bites cause redness, localized swelling and in rare cases, an allergic reaction -- hives, itching, stomach cramps or trouble breathing. These allergic signs require immediate medical attention. However, here are two home remedies to ease the ant bites: Remedy 1: Take an ice cube and apply on the spot of bite. This will act as a natural anti histamine and numb the itching and pain as well. Remedy 2: Apply calamine lotion in generous amounts and leave it on until the itching and discomfort subsides completely. This will take care of the ant bite completely and prevent further distress as well.

aloe vera gel [wash away the brown liquid and place cut gel in with some crushed ice before applying to bites] and crushed bittergourd leaves are great natural remedies that works well for my 2 boys!

Cold compress helps or you can use coconut oil. I find it very helpful to relieve the itch and swell. Aloe Vera is another good option.

Use ice, lactocalamine or use alovera gel. All three are tried and tested and works for ant bites!

A pea-size of Vicks oitment will lessen the swelling.
