Tell them also that doing bad things have serious consequences like imprisonment and even death. So, in order to stay alive and happy, we should continue to be on the good side.
This is really a challenging question, because media and internet is easily accessible nowadays. Sometimes I believe that being truthful and frank would be just right. Though on the other hand it would sometimes be best if we also tell their parents about it. That they already have an idea whats that their kid is already asking these questions.
