How do you politely tell your friend that he/she is not invited in your wedding when they ask?

If the friend is really close then you can very well tell her what is the real reason behind not calling her. And for other friend you can tell her/him that we are having a different party for our friends and our wedding is shaping upto be a very small and a family affair.
