Hi should I pay my children to help at home so they learn the value of money and also as a form of motivation?

I don't believe in paying children for help. It's their home, so they are supposed to play their part in keeping the house tidy. Taking responsibility of their own belongings should not be incentive-based, otherwise they might begin to demand for more next time. Imagine your child telling you he won't make his bed because it's just not worth it for 50 cents. Are you going to increase it to a dollar the next time round?
