We happen to get two birds to home since they were injured and they are staying with us for over a month now. They have become fine and good to take a flight, but my daughter is not ready to let them go. Though, I told her they belong to sky but she still wants to pet them. On the contrary I don't favour caging the birds. How do I make her understand?

Your child is attached to the birds now. Give her the example of humans that what if she and you all are kept in a cage and not allowed to be free, how would you feel? Similarly, birds have wings and they are meant for the sky, to fly freely. She might be upset for a few days but eventually will understand your point.
