My 15weeks + 5days appointment at KKH

Firstly, I am under the subsidized route of KKH. Also this is my first pregnancy. So today I had my 15 weeks 5 days appointment at KKH and was suprised that I had no scan scheduled. Turns out it is just to hear the baby’s heartbeat (which lasted for only 30 secs) and consultation with a doctor. What a waste of time!!! 😂😂I asked so many questions regarding my previous blood test and doc just said that all is normal and good… and that’s it. I asked for more pre natals cos I finished almost one box of the obimin and fish oil. Guess what? The bill came to a whopping $147.23. Very suprising that only pre natal vitamins costs me this much with the hassle of going down to KKH at 8 in the morning 😂 Oh well. Looking forward to my 20th week then! P.S this is only my 3rd appointment and its already costing me almost $500… I wonder how people have many kids and keep up!! Times are hard 😂

Yes you will only get ultrasound from week 20 onwards with doctor consultation. We dont get a lot of ultrasound check otherwise will be more expensive. What I can see from the bill that the number of boxes and bottles of obumin and fish oil given to last you through pregnancy. Being a subsidy patience under C clinic the waiting time will be long and just quick check with doctor about mummy and baby. I'm under subsidy for first child at NUH and second child at KKH. So it is about the same. Unless, you take gynae under Clinic B perhaps, it will be different experience however, the bill will be much more expensive as you dont have subsidy given.

Yeah exactly they have been helpful just the waiting time. I like the morning slot than afternoon slot 🤣

when I 15+4, I went NUH for appointment, the doctor just tell me the igene blood test result, other blood test never tell and I forgot to ask, then also no scan doctor only listen to heartbeat and told me heartbeat normal 148. 19+ weeks appointment I changed to NUH specialist package, not sure what the doctor will do, but one staff told me the package including all follow up and 2 scan. and they already scheduled me for a scan at week 22, not sure what will be the scan. maybe next appointment I need to ask the doctor.

Week 22 will be FA scan (fetal anomaly) to check the detailed physical development of the baby. This scan and week 32 scan is included in your package.

If u think is a waste of time to kkh, you might want to consider to switch to private. Each visit there will be scan. The gynae have maternity package where u pay for this amount. There will be a maximum number of scan for the package, scans will be all in one room, vitamins are included in the package. But of cos the price that you have to pay is definitely more than what u spend at kkh. I switch to private after my first trimester.

Mummy X - Sub patient have to do a ultrasound at AMC first before heading to see doc. So normally have to arrive earlier at kkh which is a waste of time having to shuffle btw clinic.

I am under kkh private. But I got a scan at every consultation. Even tho my clinic is clinic B I still get a scan. I guess you could check w your doctor if it’s possible for you to see baby? I’m sure they would scan for you.

Hmm I usually have ultrasound scan everytime i go to KKH though..(currently 17 weeks) need to wait longer but i find it quite worth:') But ya the price is so high..🤦🏻‍♀️

This fee is still ok. Mine is under private and it cost more cause I choose specific Gynae at KKH.
